This morning, I stopped to get gas on the way to work. I still had Austin with me because I stopped before I dropped him off at daycare. We went in to get something to drink and when we got in the store, there stood a guy checking out with a cowboy hat on, much to Austin's glee. He shouted out, "HEY MAMA! THAT COWBOY DRINKS BEER JUST LIKE MY PAW PAW AND MAW MAW DO!"
Sure enough, the guy was buying a case of Miller Lite!
Just a little embarrassed....just a little :)

52 Weeks - My Kid(s) and I, WEEK 2
Home Sweet Home!! I have been out of town in Corpus Christi and I just got home tonight. My little man must have missed me because all he wants to do is cuddle and wants me to watch his new movie with him. His current favorite movie is Toy Story. He got the talking Buzz and Woody toys for Christmas this year and I think those are 2 of his favorite toys right now.
So for '52 Weeks - My Kid(s) and I', WEEK 2...our picture is us in our comfy clothes, just laying down watching Austin's movie! I'm so glad he has outgrown his PCS (PCS = Photographer's Child Syndrome) and actually loves taking pictures now :)

Happy 2010!!!
Just wanted to wish everyone a wonderful 2010!! Everyone should have gotten their cards in the mail by now, so I wanted to post the front/back of Austin's Happy New Year card :)
Overall, the past year has been great for us! Thinking back on some of the highlights of 2009...
Austin turned 3 in May! A day after his birthday he decided he was going to give all of his diapers to Spongebob and start wearing big boy underwear. So we did and just like that, he was potty trained. I can probably count on 1 hand the number of times he has ever had an accident, even overnight. We just waited until he was 100% ready and old enough to understand. That may not work for everyone, but I'm so glad I chose that route. He also started Pre-K! He was in the 3 year old class in daycare and they did a pre-school assessment test and he tested at the 5 year level!! Aww, takes after his mommy, haha :) They moved him to a real school - booksacks, computer labs, school work and all! He has done amazing and he LOVES "big boy school" as he calls it. We had an amazing family trip to Disney World and also to Gatlinburg. Austin also appears to have outgrown all of his allergies. We do have an inhaler now (yaayy for no more breathing treatments!) for his mild asthma should he have a flare up.

Things I Don't Want to Forget
Austin is always doing and saying the funniest things. This age is truly hilarious! Every time he does something, I keep saying I'm going to write it down and put it in his baby book so I always remember it, but I never do! Here are just some things that I don't want to forget :)
1. I was on facebook yesterday and Austin looked at the computer and said, "Mama, is that your book face?"
2. My sister is pregnant and recently she told Austin that she had a baby in her belly. He looked at her with big eyes and said, "Why did you eat it?!?"
3. Austin was at his Nana's house and we were playing outside and out of nowhere he said, "Girls don't have pee pees, they just have 2 butts"....yeah, I don't want to know where he came up with that one, lol!
4. I picked Austin up from school last week and he told me he went to timeout that day. I asked him why and he said, "I didn't do anything"...I told him to tell me the truth and I would not be mad and he said, "I'm telling you, I did not kick anybody!". I'd say he just gave himself away on that one :)
And of course a blog post would not be complete without a picture :) The second one is my little cowboy on Christmas morning with his new 4-wheeler! The first one is Austin and his new camera. Like mother, like son :)

52 Weeks - My Kids and I
Several photographer friends of mine did a project last year called '52 Weeks - My Kids and I'...the idea is that as photographers, 90% of the time we find ourselves behind the lens way too often. 20 years from now, we are sure to regret not having many pictures of ourselves with our kid(s). The goal is to take a picture of myself with Austin every week for a year. A great way to start the new year :)
So...52 Weeks - Week 1 is below. We used the wireless remote (you'll see it in Austin's hand because he insisted on pushing the button!), and yes its out of focus and blurry, and yes I have no makeup on and my hair is not fixed so I'm not looking too very spiffy. But its me and Austin in a picture...together...and that's all that matters.
